CLASSIFICATION EARNINGS
To award changes in classifications (aka. ratings), USA Fencing rules require for all Youth and Cadet competitions to exceed criteria in Group C1 or higher.
All participants residing in the states of OHIO, MICHIGAN, KENTUCKY, INDIANA, ILLINOIS, WISCONSIN, MISSOURI, IOWA, MINNESOTA, NEBRASKA, NORTH DAKOTA, and SOUTH DAKOTA, will earn points on the Region 2 Point List.
The larger the field, the higher the points earned per placement.
Even though the fencers competing out of Region will not appear on the Region 2 Point List, their participation will still be counted in the overall entrants and be included when the points are calculated for the fencers who competed in their home region.
Regional Rankings are maintained by USA Fencing and are available under Regional Rankings on the USA Fencing’s website (usfencing.org).
Up to 3 RYC results will count towards an athlete’s final Regional Youth Ranking. If an athlete competes in more than 3 RYCs in their home region, their best 3 results will count.
